Amy Cotton, Community Learning Lecturer

Amy Cotton, Community Learning Lecturer

I have the privilege of working out in the community for the college with a diverse group of learners, from the age of 19 - 97. I mainly deliver employability workshops to help people get back into work, they may have been out of work for various reasons.

"I love meeting the learners and supporting them to reach their goals. I also enjoy the challenge of it, especially with those learners who sometimes refuse to engage with me at the start but end up joining in the session and really enjoying it. The most rewarding part is seeing the change in people, seeing their light bulb moments and the learners gaining more confidence in themselves is so amazing to see.”

“My advice to someone considering joining a course would be ‘Just do it!’ Make the jump and be brave. It could become a new passion, you could make new friends, it could become a job. The opportunities are endless."
