If you would like a career in teaching this is an excellent course to get you on the correct path. This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.
The ten-week course will explore:

• The main stages of development, from birth to 19 years

What next?
Learners can progress to Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
Entry criteria
This qualification is aimed at a range of learners who are thinking of working in a school setting including: young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language.
Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
Learners will be able to participate in weekly, classroom activities to build and share knowledge alongside their peers and create a portfolio of evidence. There will be opportunities to have discussions, do short presentations, design leaflets and complete a diary to reflect on weekly lessons.
