Develop key mentoring skills in this interactive online course. Gain confidence, engage in discussions, apply real-world techniques, and build leadership abilities to support others effectively in your workplace. Delivered online via Microsoft Teams by an experienced course tutor, the programme combines interactive learning with practical application.
This qualification is designed to help you develop a clear understanding of the role of a mentor and gain the essential skills needed to become an effective and confident mentor. You’ll take part in group discussions, engage in peer mentoring through breakout rooms, and complete individual study tasks to deepen your learning. There will also be opportunities to apply your mentoring skills in real-life scenarios and reflect on your experiences to enhance your practice.

This course is particularly suited to those who currently work as a mentor, are interested in becoming a mentor, support others in a professional capacity. Whether you’re looking to enhance your mentoring skills to effectively support colleagues, contribute to a positive workplace culture, or strengthen your leadership capability; this qualification will provide you with the tools and confidence to succeed.

By completing this qualification, you’ll gain the confidence and competence to mentor effectively, fostering growth and development within your workplace.

Please note there is no class on 16/02/2026. The course will be held online using Teams and your tutor will email you calendar invites prior to classes.

What next?
Apply Mentoring Skills in the Workplace. After completing the qualification, learners can apply their mentoring skills in their current role or organisation, helping colleagues with their personal and professional development. They may also assist with managing or improving mentoring schemes within the organisation to support employee growth.
Entry criteria
No formal qualifications required: In most cases, there are no specific formal qualifications needed to enrol in a Level 2 Mentoring course. However, prior experience in a related field, such as teaching, coaching, or human resources, may be beneficial.

Commitment to the Course: Learners are expected to demonstrate a willingness to commit time (around 1 to 3 hours per week) including both online sessions and independent study and effort to complete the course. This includes fulfilling any required assignments, assessments, or practical mentoring hours. The flexible format allows you to fit your learning around your professional responsibilities.

Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
Each session incorporates a blend of theoretical instruction, practical exercises, group discussions, and reflective practices. All course material is shared via the MS Teams platform. This multifaceted approach ensures a holistic learning experience where you can draw on your own life experience to deepen your learning.

To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
