Results Are In! Celebrating Our Students’ Success

We are celebrating another fantastic Level 3 results day today, as students across our campuses collect their results and take the next exciting steps towards their future.

From T Levels and vocational qualifications to specialist technical and professional programmes, our students have worked incredibly hard throughout their studies, developing their knowledge, skills and confidence along the way.

Today was a chance to celebrate their achievements and recognise the dedication of our students, staff, families and everyone who has supported them throughout their college journey. There was a fantastic atmosphere across the College as students marked this important milestone together. From cheering each other on to sharing hugs and celebrating each other and the achievements of those around them.

We’re delighted to see some really positive results across our Level 3 programmes this year. Our T Level students achieved an impressive 95% pass rate, compared with a national pass rate of 92.6%. Impressively, on 10 of our vocational programmes, including 5 of our T Levels, our pass rate was 100%, and the number of distinction and merit grades awarded to our students was also high.

Celebrating our students

Results day is about much more than grades. It is a celebration of the progress students have made, the challenges they have overcome and the ambitions they are now ready to pursue.

For many of our students, their time at college has also helped them discover more about what they enjoy, develop new skills and confirm the direction they want their future to take.

Among those celebrating today is Simeon, who achieved a Distinction in T Level Mechanical Engineering.

“I’m really happy with my results. I was hoping and had a feeling I would get a Distinction, I worked hard for it, and the marks are higher than I expected, so I couldn’t ask for more”

Simeon particularly enjoyed the balance of theory and practical learning throughout his course, with the second year offering a strong focus on hands-on engineering. He is now heading to Aston University to continue studying Mechanical Engineering, with ambitions to work in automotive design.

“I’ve always loved cars, race cars, drift cars, all sorts of cars. I want to make high-performance car parts, it would be really cool to be able to design them.”

Owen is also celebrating a Distinction in T Level Mechanical Engineering. For him, the practical side of the course was a particular highlight.

Owen is now looking ahead to university, with Agricultural Engineering a particular area of interest. Having grown up on a farm, he is interested in the potential to design the next generation of agricultural machinery and when asked about his dream job he said:

“I think it's designing the next set of tractors that are coming out. So yeah, give it a few years and I might invent the new automated tractor or something, you know.”

Discovering new passions

For other students, their time at college has helped them discover new interests and confirm the direction they want their future to take.

Sharon, who studied T Level Media, is celebrating her results and is particularly proud of the creative and practical experience she gained during her course.

“I feel really happy with my grades. I’m satisfied with the work I put in and I’m proud of myself.”

From filming and working with cameras and lighting to taking part in an overseas trip, Sharon enjoyed the opportunities to develop her skills through practical projects.

The course also helped her discover a passion for creativity that she hadn't previously realised she had.

“I didn’t really think I was good with creatives, but I gave it a go and I found out that was what I really liked.”

Sharon is now planning to take a gap year, using the time to work, save money and gain experience before pursuing a Level 4 or degree apprenticeship in media.

For Sienna, achieving a Distinction in T Level Education & Early Years has confirmed that she is on the right path towards her dream career.

The practical experience she gained working in schools allowed her to put classroom learning into practice and gave her a valuable insight into working in education.

“It gave me an insight into the role I actually wanted to work in... it definitely made me know for sure that I was going down the right path. I'd learn things in class and then go into placement and I'd see what I'd been learning about actually happening before my eyes.”

Sienna has already secured her next step and will be heading to the University of Chichester to study Primary Teaching.

Looking to the future

For many students, today is just the beginning, with more than 73% of our students who applied to university having already secured their first-choice place which is amazing news.

Every student has their own journey, their own goals and their own definition of success, and today is about celebrating each and every one of them. We wish all our students the very best as they take their next steps, whether that’s heading to university, starting an apprenticeship, entering employment or pursuing a new ambition.”
