and this December, we’re adding a sprinkle of holiday magic by introducing Abingdon & Witney College’s Advent Calendar 2024 🎅.
13th Jun 2022
Sheep shearing, pony rides, dog agility, face painting and a bouncy castle were just some of the attractions at the Common Leys Country Fayre on Sunday 12th June.
The car park filled up quickly as visitors made the most of the glorious sunshine to meet the animals - large and small - visit the wide range of stalls and sample life on the farm for an afternoon.
On hand to help were our horticultural, animal management and equine students who were a huge part of making the day such a success.
Head of Faculty, Coral Ward, said: "The Land Based Industries team put on a fantastic event; the campus looked stunning and there were some brilliant activities running throughout the day. This was a great event for our students to be involved in as part of their social action project.
This was our biggest and busiest June event for some time and it felt great to be able to share our special place with the local community again".
As well as an opportunity to meet animals ranging from horses, goats and sheep to rabbits, guinea pigs and reptiles both RHS and Propeller horticultural students had the opportunity to show off the fruits of their labour, selling a range of flowers, hanging baskets, pick your own vegetables and crafts produced by them throughout the year.
