and this December, we’re adding a sprinkle of holiday magic by introducing Abingdon & Witney College’s Advent Calendar 2024 🎅.
14th Aug 2020
Abingdon & Witney College have been announced as the winners of the Large Training Provider of the Year Award at the 2020 AAT Training Provider Awards.
Having been consistently shortlisted in recent years in the Medium-sized Provider category, the College went one better this time around. With this award, the College is recognised by the national accounting qualification and membership body for the work it does to help its learners to achieve qualifications and begin successful careers in accounting and finance.
The awarding body’s judges commented on the College's engagement of employers, excellent teaching, high levels of student engagement and outstanding pass rates.
Shortlisted entries come from all corners of the industry, from further education colleges, private companies, distance-learning and international providers.
Due to the impact of the coronavirus, the ceremony was held online and awards were handed out virtually.
With its professional Accounting courses, the College’s main focus is to support its learners to achieve the qualifications they need, alongside helping to develop employability skills and knowledge that sets them up for a career.
They can be studied part-time, alongside work and life routines, and are accessible to all levels of experience. Classes are a blend of digital lessons and on-site classroom learning, giving students access to resources at home when they need them.
The College has also found previous success in the Tutor of the Year category, with Witney-based Karen Walker winning the award back in 2019.
Angela Hayles, Head of Faculty at Abingdon & Witney College, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award in recognition of our Accounting lecturers and students, and their achievements. Our intention is to offer a programme of consistently high quality AAT vocational and technical qualifications that prepare students for employment, enable them to progress through the industry, and meet the demands of local employers. The award celebrates this approach and highlights that this is exactly what we are doing!”
