T Level in Accounting

If you are driven, professional, have an eye for numbers, and enjoy problem solving then the Accounting T Level could be your next step towards your future career.

Experience what life in finance and accounting is like

What makes a T Level unique is the 9 weeks that you will spend working on an industry placement. This is your opportunity to experience what life in finance and accounting is all about.

Do you have a passion for accountancy and progressing your career?

Accounting has a crucial role to play in businesses of all sizes, whether it is consulting and advising for a larger organisation or bookkeeping for a local business.

Gaining the correct qualifications is key to this line of work, along with being self-motivated and determined to succeed.

The Accounting T Level is the equivalent size of 3 A Levels and is aimed at preparing you for a role as an assistant accountant, or to continue study at undergraduate level.

You will develop knowledge of accounting specific tasks and processes as well as wider business theories and operations to provide you with the steps to transition into higher education, with the achievement of UCAS points, or professional work.

You will also participate in an industry placement across both years of the course to gain valuable industry experience and develop wider professional skills.

Maths was always my strongest subject and my ambition was always to work as an accountant.

At college, there is much more independence than at school and I like the fact I study the subject I'm most interested in. Meeting new people and the balance between work and college is what I enjoy most about studying here.

Karen is a really good teacher and gives you individual attention, and there is also access to lots of useful resources.

When I achieve Level 4, I will hopefully be promoted at work and depending on my results, I'm hoping to do ACCA in September.

I have previously done AAT Level 2 as an apprentice and Level 3 as an employee. Coming back to college to do Level 4, I really enjoy the learning experience, the fact that our class is small and we all support each other. Everyone wants to be there, so we achieve a lot.

Karen is really supportive and friendly and goes out of her way to give extra help. The course means I can apply what I learn at work, with lots of topics in a broad range of areas covered.

Originally after finishing school, I applied for university but I saw the AAT apprenticeship and decided to go down that route. My employer then offered me the chance to study higher levels.

Because of the job I am in and that the college is local to where I live in Witney, this course has worked out well for me. I also have a friend who had already finished the Level 3 qualification and she'd recommended the course and the College.

I’m enjoying being back at college and coming back as a mature learner has been great. This is not a subject that I had to do but one I wanted to do for myself and I am enjoying the challenge of learning again as well as meeting lots of new people.

Over the last two years I have completed my Level 2 and Level 3 and am currently studying Level 4.
