Abingdon & Witney College Secures Major Funding Boost for Green Skills Training!

8th Aug 2024

Exciting news for residents of South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse, and Cherwell districts! Abingdon & Witney College has just received significant new funding, unlocking fully funded green and eco-friendly home improvement courses. This is a golden opportunity for locals to gain cutting-edge skills that are not only in high demand but also crucial for a sustainable future.

Thanks to generous funding from South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse, and Cherwell District Councils, supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, these innovative courses will cover essential topics like Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pumps, Understanding Domestic Retrofit, Unvented Hot Water Heating Systems, and more. Whether you're looking to upskill, reskill, or simply expand your knowledge in green technologies, this is your chance to join the green revolution!

To kick off this exciting initiative, join us at our Free Courses launch event on Monday, 19 August, at the Net Zero Skills Hub, Abingdon & Witney College, Wootton Road, Abingdon, OX14 1GG, from 9:30am to 11:00am. Discover how these courses can propel you into the future of green technology and secure your place in the rapidly growing green economy.

Jacqui Canton, Principal and Chief Executive of Abingdon & Witney College, shared her enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to continue offering these free courses that empower individuals with essential skills in the green technology sector. Our vision, 'Be You Be Extraordinary,' is at the heart of this initiative, enhancing employability and supporting a sustainable future for our community."

This latest funding announcement builds on previous support from West Oxfordshire District Council, which has already enabled the college to provide critical training in green skills, care, and hospitality. With a goal to equip at least 130 residents with green skills and another 100 individuals with certificates in care and hospitality, Abingdon & Witney College is driving forward the next generation of skilled professionals.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity! For more information on the courses and to sign up for the launch event, please click here.
