This course gives those who have experienced Yoga before, space to reconnect with this wonderful practice and continue to build their knowledge and progress further to gain a deeper level of understanding of asanas, breath-work, meditation and relaxation - working towards developing a self-practice.

In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.

The course will build upon the fundamental practice of Yoga and delve deeper to broaden your knowledge of a range of key poses, holding them for longer to build strength and stamina, as well as linking them together with other poses to demonstrating flowing sequences whilst focusing on breath.

Each session will also include specific pranayama and relaxation techniques, and elements of yoga philosophy will be introduced as appropriate to the theme of each class.

By the end of the course, you will have gained more confidence in your ability to establish a yoga practice that works for you and your body.

Our experienced tutor can adapt to the physical needs of the individual, offering variations and adaptations, accommodating injury where necessary.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:• demonstrate how to hold a pose using core strength and balance• apply knowledge of yoga poses to create a sequence (flow) combining breath and movement• measure own progress of improved stamina, balance and flexibility by continuing your yoga practice

Please bring own mat and water bottle.

Please note there will be no session on 20/02/25.

Abingdon and Witney College is subject to Ofsted regulation and is required to work with all its students to make sure they understand Government initiatives around Safeguarding, Prevent and Fundamental British Values. Information on these matters will be shared with you during your course.

You will also be asked to complete monitoring paperwork, which helps us to deliver course content to the highest quality.

Before starting a course, the College is required to check you meet conditions relating to that funding, e.g. age, residency status within the UK/EEA, prior qualification level and employment status. In some circumstances (such as with online enrolments), these checks can only be completed after you have enrolled and paid.
