This course is for those of you who have some knowledge of Polish (about a year) or who have completed a Beginners course. In Improvers you will continue building on what you have learnt in your previous courses. The course is still very practical and based on communication and speaking. You will also start to discover other verb tenses apart from the present tense. In this course, you will also take the opportunity to look at cultural aspects of the language as well.
In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.
Building on the knowledge acquired in your first year you will be working with past tense and future tense expanding from the present one. This allows you to cover topics like biographies, narrate experiences, planning for the weekend etc. You will also look at practical situations such as buying, booking a show, inviting, organising holidays or to behave accordingly in social situations. This is a highly practical course designed to deepen your confidence and expand your knowledge of the language and the culture. No refreshments available, please bring your own.Free parking onsite

Please note there will be no class on 18/02/2025.

Abingdon and Witney College is subject to Ofsted regulation and is required to work with all its students to make sure they understand Government initiatives around Safeguarding, Prevent and Fundamental British Values. Information on these matters will be shared with you during your course.

You will also be asked to complete monitoring paperwork, which helps us to deliver course content to the highest quality.

Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements however this is a course for those who have already studied the language at school for one or two years, of followed a course for 50 - 60 hours, or else have spent some time in the country on holiday or business trips. You will already be able to cope with a range of simple everyday situations using the present tense and be able to recognise the past tense when you hear or read it. We are committed to ensuring that you have a positive learning experience and will therefore be reviewing all our classes after the first session to ensure learners are enrolled on a course that is at the right level for them.
