Enjoy creating your very own unique glass decorations in this seasonal workshop. This is an opportunity to experiment with glass fusing techniques. You will be introduced to different glass materials; frits, stringers, confetti and how they are used, as well as the results when fused and melted.
Project 1. We will start by making a large glass Table decoration/Wreath or Window Decoration. Design ideas, glass cutting and assembling will be covered. For this project we will be using clear glass. Once fired you will be able to dress it up with suitable ‘accessories’ to suit the colours of your Christmas table. By using some greenery from the garden, fairy light, ribbons and baubles you can create a very unique decoration for your door or table.

Project 2. You will have the opportunity to create Christmas tree hanging decorations, small glass fused gift tags, stocking fillers or T-light holders. Previous students have made glass snow-flakes, colourful hanging ornaments and Christmas scene coasters. There are many possibilities and whether you are new to glass or have experience of fusing there will be lots to inspire you, with beautiful results. Bring suitable resources as inspiration and have fun experimenting and creating your own designs.

Please bring with you:• a sketchbook/notebook and pen • photos, patterns and pictures to use as inspiration • a dust mask • an apron• an old but clean dishcloth is useful• wear closed-toe shoes

Collection of Work: All projects will be taken away for firing in a kiln and will be returned to the teaching venue for collection.
