Exercise to Music – Mixed Ability – Spring is an effective, enjoyable class for all ages and abilities. Through exercise and dance moves, you can improve/maintain all areas of your fitness such as coordination, posture, range of movement and balance. It is also a good way to keep up your general wellbeing and mental health, and you can move at your own pace and level.
This course is for anyone wanting to maintain/improve their fitness, to be active, sociable, safe and have some fun whilst they do so.

The basic routine for each session is as follows:· A warm-up consisting of a pulse raiser, mobiliser and short stretch which prepares the body for the aerobic section.· The aerobic section is a mixture of high and low impact exercises. The tutor will demonstrate alternative exercises so that you can work at your own level.· The cool down will include exercises that lower your pulse, muscular strength and endurance exercises (for the tummy, thighs and improved posture) then a cool down stretch and a remobiliser to finish.

Routines will be varied to incorporate different styles such as, cha, cha, cha; Charleston; modern jazz and pop.

Enjoying movement is important, so please wear comfortable clothes, such as leggings, exercise trousers and T-shirt. Suitable shoes must be worn to provide support and absorb shock, for example trainers.

Please bring a mat or towel for floor work and a bottle of water or something to drink to re-hydrate the body. Please do not buy any equipment until it has been confirmed that the course is running.

Please note there will be no session on 20/02/25.

Abingdon and Witney College is subject to Ofsted regulation and is required to work with all its students to make sure they understand Government initiatives around Safeguarding, Prevent and Fundamental British Values. Information on these matters will be shared with you during your course.
