Recognised and sought after by employers on a global scale, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualifications provide professionals with the underpinning knowledge and skills necessary to go far in the Human Resource and Learning and Development career pathways.

This qualification is suitable for those who have completed a CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice and are working in practice at a supervisory level or for those who have worked in practice at a supervisory level for a number of years. It is aimed at further expanding learners’ independent practice to enable them to evolve into more senior roles within organisations as people professionals. Learners’ work will be mainly operational with some complexity. They will contribute to the thinking around their work, analysing information to inform choices and actions. Working with and influencing others through their work will create short-term value for a wider audience. Using a framework of HR and L&D understanding, behaviours and skills development, this qualification offers opportunity for learners to transition to employment as people managers.

This qualification extends and fosters a deeper level of understanding and application and naturally progresses learners’ expertise in people practice. It is suited to individuals who: are aspiring to, or embarking on, a career in people management, are working in a people practice role and wish to contribute their knowledge and skills to help shape organisational value, are working towards or working in a people manager role. Delivery of this course will be blended with a mixture of online and face to face lessons. Delivery times will be 10:00-15:30. One to one tutorials will be held 15:30-16:30 for students once per term on average.

What next?
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to undertake a CIPD Level 7 programme of study. When you complete your qualification, you’ll be awarded CIPD Associate Membership, and the designation “Assoc CIPD” after your name. This establishes your credibility as a professional, raises your profile and opens doors to new job opportunities.
Entry criteria
This qualification is designed for learners aged 19+ who want to learn more about advanced people practice or L&D practice. Although there are no formal entry requirements, you need to be working in a role with suitable scope, therefore, an informal interview will be conducted to ensure that the course is suitable for you. As this is a professional qualification, we recommend that you hold GCSE English and Maths at L2. However, if you do not have these qualifications please contact us for a discussion as it may still be possible for you to join the course. The CIPD has a policy for learners where English is not their first language that gives guidance on appropriate English language entry requirements. The policy can be found on the CIPD website https://www.cipd.co.uk/membership/students/qualification-policies.
