This course corresponds with the Internationalised Standard Chinese Proficiency Test level 3 and above. You should have studied part-time for at least 5 to 6 years with the College or other providers or at the equivalent. You are expected to have a good command of the language, both written and spoken, that goes beyond the normal daily use of the language. You will learn in a fun, informal and supportive environment with like-minded people.
In this course, you will study the books HSK3/4 alongside real texts, fragments from TV programs, etc., to contextualise your knowledge.

The learning will focus on a broad range of topics from history, literature and environment. You will be encouraged to use grammar points, vocabulary and idiomatic expressions to discuss the material and to give opinions on these topics. This course also covers sociocultural aspects of China.

Please note there are no classes during half term.

Entry criteria
You should have studied at least 5 to 6 years part-time based with the College or other providers, or at the equivalent.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.
