The purpose of these one-hour, online, yoga sessions is to provide some time-out from daily lives to focus on your own health and wellbeing.
These are uplifting classes that are fun and engaging, offering a light-hearted approach to practicing yoga and relaxation. Each class will focus on bringing awareness to the body with gentle stretching and yoga postures, and working closely with the breath to help increase energy, flexibility and vitality, helping release physical tension which can promote relaxation for the mind. The course is delivered online using Zoom. Each class will include gentle stretching to warm-up the body, working with the breath throughout the class and moving the body through various yoga postures, then finishing with a guided relaxation. The course will also highlight alternative methods for practicing yoga postures safely if the traditional form of the pose is not achievable for the learner. For example, a posture that involves lifting the arms, may be practiced with no arms if the learner has a shoulder/arm issue.By participating in this online course, you can experience improved flexibility and release tightness and tension from the physical body; increase muscle strength and better balance and learn breathing techniques that can help release stress and reduce anxiety. In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date. Please note there will be no class on 29/10/2024.
