Our apprenticeship pathway offers a direct route into the industry. We offer both the Level 2 Barbering and the Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeships.
A combination of hands-on salon experience with structured college training, will help you develop the advanced technical skills, creativity and professionalism needed to succeed in the industry. You’ll learn from experienced professionals while building the knowledge, behaviours and customer service skills that employers value.
We are the only college in Oxfordshire to partner with leading hairdresser Lee Stafford, giving access to exceptional training, industry insight and current hair trends.
As an apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced stylists or barbers while building your skills day to day. Hairdressing apprentices typically work as salon assistants, supporting stylists while learning to cut, colour and style hair, with a strong focus on client service and teamwork. Barbering apprentices develop the essential skills, including men’s cutting techniques, beard and moustache grooming, and traditional and contemporary barbering styles, while building confidence in client care and professional standards.
Develop advanced professional skills
Throughout your apprenticeship you’ll be encouraged to develop both technical expertise and professional behaviours. This includes managing your own work, building relationships with clients, planning your time effectively and maintaining the high standards expected in the industry. Training takes place through a combination of on-the-job experience with your employer and day-release study at college, ensuring you gain both practical skills and industry knowledge.
