What is a Study Programme?

At Abingdon & Witney College your Study Programme is more than just your vocational subject - it’s a full package designed to help you develop the skills, knowledge, and experience you need for your future.

Main Qualification
At Abingdon & Witney College your Study Programme is more than just your vocational programme - this could be a BTEC or UAL qualification, a diploma or certificate from another awarding organisation or a T level, depending on your chosen career path, or an employability qualification if you haven’t chosen your career path yet.

English & Maths
If you haven’t yet achieved a grade 4 in GCSE English or maths, we’ll support you in improving these essential skills by enrolling you on a GCSE English and/or GCSE maths programme.

Work Experience or Industry Placements
Your programme will include either work experience or, if you are on a T Level, an Industry Placement - these are essential for developing your workplace skills and demonstrating to employers that you are work ready!

Personal Development
This might include enrichment or our Core programme and are important to develop both your knowledge of the wider world and allowing you opportunities to develop skills that might be outside of your chosen career pathway. These are important to ensure your well-being and to help you cope with the demands of everyday life as an adult!

Careers Support
Get expert advice, employability training, and guidance for your next steps whether that’s university, work, or further training, you can access careers advice individually, or you might take part in group careers education with your classmates.
