We are delighted that you will be joining the Access to Learning Faculty.

The Fast Forward Study Programme is a supportive full time course designed for young people who are unsure about what they want to do in the future, who may need additional support or may not yet have the qualifications needed for their chosen course.

Fast Forward offers a one-year transition programme which enables you to rapidly ‘catch up’ with your peer group and progress to your chosen vocational option.

Our personalised programmes are tailored to help you identify the skills and qualities you need to progress onto a Level 1 or higher course. With an emphasis on Maths and English at either GCSE or Functional Skills, you will also develop your social and study skills with lots of pastoral support.

Our mix of traditional teaching and practical learning, small group sizes, Community and Social Action Projects are designed to help you practice the skills you will need in the workplace or to access further study.

We hope to run enrichment tasters across campus in the following areas after the October half term:

  • Health and social care/Childcare
  • Motor Vehicles
  • Art & Design
  • Public Service/Sport
  • Hair and Beauty
  • Computing
  • Horticulture and Animal Care
  • Construction

Our teachers and mentors are experienced at supporting young people to get the most out of their time at College and prepare for their future employment or a higher level vocational course. We will help you learn the skills you need to move onto the right course, employment or apprenticeship.

Before you start your course there will be a chance to get to know the staff members a little more via telephone or an online meet and greet. You will be invited to a Team group so that you can start to get to know the other students and staff on the course.

Please complete the Fast Forward form

By doing so, we can log you into our new Fast Forward Team chat area for 2020-2021! Hope to see you soon and we look forward to getting to know you more over the summer.
