and this December, we’re adding a sprinkle of holiday magic by introducing Abingdon & Witney College’s Advent Calendar 2024 🎅.
11th Dec 2024
Last night we were very excited to attend ‘Triptych’, the first ever collaborative event from our Performing Arts and Music students.
Over the past five weeks, the students organised an incredible ensemble of solos, duets and group performances that showcased the sheer talent amongst the students. They displayed an incredible level of autonomy in their planning and execution of the event, and were “treated as artists”, as explained by Nichola Pratley, Performing Arts tutor.
The event not only put our Performing Arts and Music students in a professional setting, but it also gave some industry experience to some of our Media students who filmed the performances. This ‘real-world’ experience is essential to the development of the students' confidence, knowledge and early careers.
The energy and supportive nature of the students resonated throughout the event. Students, staff, family and friends cheered, sang and danced as the performers took us through a breadth of genres; from insane guitar and drum solos to girl groups who got everyone singing along. There was an excellent turnout from students' parents, curriculum staff and our Senior Management team, who all thoroughly enjoyed their evening.
Studio Se7en
The event took place at Studio Se7en, a live music and entertainment venue, set in the Green Room Studios recording complex in Witney. A big thank you to all the team who allowed our students to feel like true music artists for the evening.
Does this sound like something you would enjoy being a part of? Come along to one of our Open Days and talk to our Music and Performing Arts staff about our fantastic courses. Click here for more information and to register online.
