Our T Level learners in Business, Accounting and Marketing recently took part in two educational visits, giving them the opportunity to explore the inner workings of world-renowned organisations and gain valuable insight into potential future careers.
Behind the scenes at Silverstone
Business and Marketing students visited the Silverstone Museum, located at the the heart of British motor racing at the iconic Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire. On the trip they learned about the rich history of Silverstone, and its journey from a former wartime airfield to one of the world's most recognised motorsport venues.

During the visit, students explored the museum's interactive exhibits and discovered how Silverstone has established itself as a global brand, hosting major international events including Formula 1 and MotoGP. They also had the opportunity to view sections of the original circuit and learn more about the development of the track over the decades.
A highlight of the day was a talk from Silverstone staff, who shared insights into how the venue operates behind the scenes and discussed the wide range of careers available across the organisation, from event management and business administration to finance, marketing and operations.

Students also put their driving skills to the test in the Silverstone SIM Suite virtual racing experience. Congratulations to Lucas, Josh and Scarlett-May, who secured places on the podium after posting some of the fastest lap times of the day.

Exploring the Bank of England
T Level Accounting students also visited the Bank of England Museum in London, where they explored the history and role of one of the world's most influential financial institutions. Learners discovered how the institution grew from its establishment by royal charter in 1694 to become England’s central bank.
The visit provided an opportunity to learn about the origins of the Bank of England and its role in supporting both the UK and global economy. Students discovered the history of the Bank's gold reserves, the process of banknote production and the impact of inflation on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

Students also took part in a specialist session with a member of Bank of England staff, who explained the Bank's responsibilities, including safeguarding gold reserves, issuing banknotes and helping to shape monetary policy. The discussion gave students a valuable insight into the important work carried out by the institution and the range of careers available within the financial sector. Adding a competitive element to the day, student Jimmy successfully completed the museum's popular "Crack the Safe" challenge, earning special recognition from his peers.

Bringing learning to life
These visits provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect their classroom studies with real-world organisations, helping them develop a deeper understanding of business, finance and marketing in practice. As well as work placements, these experiences are an important part of the T Level programme, enabling students to broaden their knowledge, explore career pathways and gain first-hand insight into the industries they may one day join.
