Success Story: Art student is selected to showcase her talent at UAL Exhibition

4th Oct 2024

Over the summer one of our Art & Design students, Sirisha, was selected to display her work at Origins Creatives 2024, the UAL Awarding Body's annual celebration of student achievement at Mall Galleries in London. With over 528 entries from colleges nationwide, curator Charlie Levine was thrilled to tell Sirisha that her work had been selected for inclusion in the exhibition.

Sirisha's submission, 'Aspects of my LIFE', was made from recycled fabrics and wire and told a story about her journey through life using a physical art piece: "Each vessel has its unique characteristics which describe how my life has changed throughout the years. The first one is my childhood, the second is my average student life, the third is me dealing with the grief of losing loved ones, the fourth is me stepping out of my comfort zone, making new friends and being able to bloom as a better person, and the fifth is me trying to explore as an adult, creating memories and collecting them."

Congratulations to Sirisha, on this fantastic achievement. Here are some pictures of Sirisha and her art at the exhibition open evening, enjoying the opportunity to showcase her talent.

Origins Creatives is an opportunity for students, teachers and families to come together and celebrate student creativity and hard work. It brings together student work from across the UAL subject areas of Art and Design, Fashion Business and Retail, Creative Media, Music Performance and Production, Performing Arts, Entry Level 3 in Art and Design and Performing Arts, Professional Diplomas, and the Extended Project Qualification. Over 2500 people visited the exhibition - where they got to see over 150 pieces of works by the incredibly talented UAL Awarding Body students.
