Inspiring future careers: A recap of the WOSCP Careers Fair 2025

On December 3rd, our Witney Campus welcomed students from across West Oxfordshire for this year’s WOSCP Careers Fair. Organised by the West Oxfordshire Schools Careers Partnership (WOSCP) and hosted by Abingdon & Witney College, the event offered students a valuable opportunity to explore their next steps and meet employers face-to-face.

This year’s fair featured 62 exhibitor tables, including 19 universities, apprenticeship providers, employers, public services and the NHS. Students explored industries from engineering, healthcare and law to creative arts, construction, technology, childcare and hospitality. Exhibitors included Airbus, Thames Valley Police, Siemens Healthineers, Ridge & Partners, Oxfordshire Advanced Skills, Darke & Taylor, and universities such as Oxford Brookes, Cardiff, Exeter, Hertfordshire, Bath Spa, Gloucestershire, and Buckinghamshire New University. Oxford University Hospitals were represented across multiple departments including Microbiology and Pharmacy.

Thames Valley Police highlighted:
“Policing isn’t just about blue lights - there are hundreds of vital behind-the-scenes roles. A career in policing can take many forms, and we rely on all of them.”

Throughout the evening, students engaged with employers and educators to learn about career paths, training opportunities, and essential workplace skills. Apprenticeship providers, including ACE Training, Engineering Trust Training Ltd, QA Apprenticeships, and AirTanker, were on hand to support students considering work-based learning options.

The Oxford University Apprenticeships Team said:
“Events like this are so important because many students don’t realise apprenticeships are accessible to them. We want young people to understand that hands-on learning can lead to real career progression.”

Oxfordshire County Council added:
“Our industry is small but vital, and events like this help young people discover roles they may never have considered.”

West Oxfordshire Schools and Careers Partnership:
