Animal Therapy and Rehabilitation Alumni embarks on career in Veterinary Physiotherapy following extensive achievements including a published dissertation, First-Class BSc Honours Degree, and MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy.
Animal Therapy and Rehabilitation alumnus Rory first joined Abingdon & Witney College in 2020 on our Foundation course in Animal Therapy and Rehabilitation. Quickly mastering the material, Rory advanced to our BSc course, where he completed his dissertation titled "How the Aquatic Treadmill Impacts the Gait of the Canine." His impressive study was published, and Rory graduated with First-Class Honours in 2022.
Rory progressed to the University of Nottingham, where he pursued a MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy focusing on the treatment of Intervertebral Disc Disorder (IVDD). Since leaving the College, Rory has stayed in touch with his Lecturer, Clair, who proudly shares in celebrating his brilliant successes - including his recent start as a Veterinary Physiotherapist with Annabelle Galt Veterinary Physiotherapy in Fenny Compton.
The College is incredibly proud of Rory’s achievements and is delighted to hear how his time with us has inspired him to pursue a career in lecturing to pass his skills onto the next generation.
Reflecting on his time at the College and how it helped him in his current successes, Rory shared the following:
“After graduating with a First Class Honours in Animal Therapy and Rehabilitation from Abingdon & Witney College in 2022, I advanced my studies with an MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy. My time at Abington & Witney College provided an excellent blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, perfectly preparing me for further education.
The integrated Level 3 Certificate in Small Animal Hydrotherapy was pivotal in broadening my skillset. This qualification has been the perfect accompaniment to work as a Veterinary Physiotherapist and helped me develop the career I have now.
The lecturers were not only knowledgeable but deeply passionate about their subjects, creating an environment of learning, as well as enjoyment throughout the learning process. Their mentorship has inspired me to pursue a future in lecturing, where I can pass on the same level of dedication and knowledge to future students, just as my lecturers did for me.
My journey in animal rehabilitation has been shaped by this course, and I am excited to continue building on the solid foundation it provided, both in my ongoing studies and in my current professional career at Annabelle Galt Veterinary Physiotherapy.”
Congratulations to our Alumni Rory for his impressive achievements and the beginning of a brilliant career!
