The new academic year is officially underway, and we are delighted to have welcomed more new starters than ever before, with record numbers joining us this September.
Students have been settling in well - meeting classmates, exploring campus, and finding their routine. With so much happening at the start of the year, Freshers’ Week offers the perfect introduction to college life.
One of the biggest highlights were our Western-themed Freshers’ events, which took place at our Abingdon, Witney and Common Leys Campuses. Hundreds of students gathered for a western welcome packed with activities, challenges, and entertainment designed to help everyone feel part of the college community.
Students showed their competitive side on the Rodeo Bull and put their strength to the test in the Hang Tough Grip Challenge. Our Hair & Beauty team brought the glitz with festival make-up and braiding, while the photo booth gave everyone the chance to dress the part.
Students also had the chance to meet with a wide range of college and community stallholders, discovering the support and enrichment opportunities available to them this year. And of course, no Western-style celebration would be complete without some treats - with pizza, candy floss, and sweets fueling the fun.
Freshers’ Fest has set the tone for a fantastic year ahead, and we look forward to getting to know all our new students as they begin their journey with us. With so many opportunities to explore, friendships to build, and achievements to celebrate, we can’t wait to see what this year brings!
