and this December, we’re adding a sprinkle of holiday magic by introducing Abingdon & Witney College’s Advent Calendar 2024 🎅.
18th Dec 2020
Former Abingdon & Witney College student Nikki Atkins, who studied NVQ Levels 2 & 3 in Beauty Therapy at our Abingdon campus from 2003-2005, has won another prestigious beauty award.
“Winning a Professional Beauty Award is the highlight of my career to date, and absolutely my proudest moment. The Professional Beauty Awards are the biggest, most prestigious awards in the industry, and are held in very high esteem by professionals, so to win this award is an absolute dream of mine
I have loved the industry from the moment I started my training at Abingdon & Witney College, and have always worked my hardest to advance my career and get to where I am. To receive recognition for this hard work, especially from such a huge organisation, fills me with pride and can only do wonders for my business.
This year has been incredibly challenging for us, but we are still going strong and have recently celebrated our 10th anniversary of opening, so this award is the most fantastic way to end the year on a high” - said Nikki
We asked Nikki what advice she would give to current Abingdon & Witney College Beauty Therapy students:
“My advice to current beauty students would be to never say no. Keep learning, learn as much as you can - even if you don’t go on to offer those treatments later on - because it will give you a wealth of knowledge of the industry that stand you in good stead for a great career.
Do as many clients as you can, even after your assessments have been passed. You can never have enough experience, and it will help to grow your confidence and show future employers that you have what it takes to make a great therapist” - said Nikki
