A local motor vehicle employer, Aston Repair Depot Ltd, is celebrating a double achievement after both an apprentice and their manager were recognised in our Apprentice and Manager of the Month Awards.
Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprentice, Riley was named Apprentice of the Month, while Andy Ball received the Manager of the Month award, highlighting the positive impact of strong workplace support and mentorship.
Riley was nominated by Training Coordinator Julia Silas, who praised the significant progress he has made since starting his apprenticeship.
Julia said: "Through hard work, perseverance, and a strong willingness to learn, Riley has developed into a reliable and valued member of the team."
"Riley continues to progress well in the workplace, regularly stepping up when required and approaching tasks with a professional and positive attitude. He has recently achieved his Functional Skills Maths qualification and passed his driving test, further demonstrating his commitment to personal development."
Adding to the celebrations, Andy Ball was recognised as Manager of the Month for his dedication to supporting apprentices and creating a positive workplace environment. Andy's nomination stated:
“Andy consistently goes above and beyond to ensure his apprentice is supported, taking the time to guide them properly and help them build confidence in their role. His approach shows a high level of commitment and dedication, always focusing on what is best for the apprentice’s development."
Andy’s nomination highlighted his strong understanding of apprenticeship requirements and his commitment to embedding important values within the workplace. He was also praised for creating a welcoming team culture where colleagues support one another and everyone feels valued.
The fact that both Riley and Andy received awards in the same month demonstrates the power of effective mentoring and the positive relationship that can develop between apprentice and manager.
