Every year, students from the College’s art and design department have the opportunity to collaborate with the West Oxfordshire Business Awards team (WOBA) to design a unique trophy. This trophy, created with help from Synolos, is presented to the overall winner at the awards ceremony and never fails to draw admiring comments from the judges, guests and award winners.
2019 is set to be no different, with the latest design pitches from students once again showcasing the wide pool of talent that the College helps to nurture.
Judging the #WOBA2019 trophy design competition is a serious business! Thank you to @SynolosUK and @AbWitCollege for their continued support. Looking forward to another amazing unique @wobateam trophy. pic.twitter.com/F1CqSw2QQp

The panel of judges – from the College, Synolos and SPL Communications – had a tough time deciding on a winning design but overall were wowed by the concepts put before them. There were phoenixes, hawks, hearts – all manner of beautifully creative ideas. Having considered all the trophy designs, they eventually agreed on a winner, which will be unveiled at a ceremony in early 2019.
Meanwhile, a launch event last week at the Cotswold Hotel & Spa was held to announce the different award categories for WOBA 2019, led by Witney & West Oxfordshire MP Robert Courts.
We can’t wait to see the winning student trophy brought to life and taking center stage at the WOBAs – watch this space!
