Our Creative Industries students showcased their work at our Abingdon and Witney campuses with the private viewings of MADE and POV, two vibrant end-of-year exhibitions marking the culmination of their Final Major Projects. Held on 22 May, the events welcomed friends, family and guests to celebrate the creativity, innovation and technical skills our students have developed throughout their studies.
The exhibitions bring together an exciting collection of work produced by students across our Art & Design, Media and Creative Enterprise courses. The exhibitions represent the final outcomes of each student’s 10-week Final Major Project, a self-directed brief where students explore a chosen theme, supporting their work through in-depth research and experimentation with their creative and technical skills they have developed throughout their course.
The result is two diverse and engaging exhibitions featuring a wide range of media. Visitors can see everything from fashion design and photography to large-scale installations, alongside 3D and digital design work and traditional printmaking.
Adding to the atmosphere of the MADE private view in Witney, a group of our Music students, who have formed their own band, performed live, welcoming visitors into the exhibition space. The band also featured as subjects within some of the photography work on display, demonstrating the collaborative nature of our Creative Industries courses.

For many students, the Final Major Project is a defining moment in their creative development. It allows them to refine their artistic voice and produce a professional portfolio that prepares them for the next step, whether that’s university, employment or launching their own creative practice.
Holding an end of year exhibition presents an additional challenge. For many, the private view marks their first experience of showcasing work publicly, requiring them to plan, curate and install their pieces to a professional exhibition standard. This hands-on experience gives students valuable insight into the realities of working in the creative industries, as they’re challenged to consider aspects such as professional presentation and audience engagement.
Visitors to the private view were also able to take away a piece of the exhibition experience, with some students producing stickers and prints to share. Selected artworks were even available to purchase, offering audiences the opportunity to directly support emerging creative talent.
Students benefit from the guidance of tutors with extensive industry experience across a wide range of creative disciplines. This invaluable knowledge helps shape their practice, ensuring they graduate not only with strong portfolios, but with an understanding of the professional world they are entering.
The exhibitions are now open, and we warmly invite members of the public, local community, and prospective students to come and experience the incredible work of our talented students.
