On Wednesday 29th January our Witney Campus hosted a Green Skills Event which provided information and support to anyone wanting to boost their knowledge and skills in the green sector.
Attendees discovered how government-funded courses, run by Abingdon and Witney College, might lead to qualifications which could future-proof their businesses and even make their own homes more sustainable. All the courses have been designed with employers and are taught by highly qualified and experienced trainers. After a presentation by Will Gibbs, Construction Skills Project Lead, attendees were treated to expert demonstrations of some of the state-of-the-art equipment used to teach the Green Skills courses, which had been brought in especially for this event.
The event also provided a valuable networking opportunity, with professionals from across Oxfordshire and beyond coming to share insight and make connections.
Michael Huth, Net Zero Skills Hub Manager, said after the event:
We were thrilled with the fantastic turnout for the Green Skills event, which provided a valuable opportunity for trade professionals and the public to explore courses that drive both business success and environmental impact. It was inspiring to connect with so many individuals eager to benefit from the expert knowledge and cutting-edge skills our staff bring to these programmes.
Details of future events across the county will be posted on the Abingdon and Witney College website and advertised on the College’s social media.
Information about upcoming courses covering plumbing, electrical and sustainable skills can be found in the Net Zero Hub of the Abingdon and Witney website and are open now for registration.
