and this December, we’re adding a sprinkle of holiday magic by introducing Abingdon & Witney College’s Advent Calendar 2024 🎅.
4th Jul 2024
The beginning of July marks an annual celebration for Abingdon & Witney College, as the College invites parents, governors, friends, and staff to congregate and celebrate the achievements of our brilliant students at the College’s Student of the Year Awards.
The end of year award ceremony is hosted in the grand grounds of Blenheim Palace and offers each curriculum area an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of their students; whilst giving both staff and students a well welcomed chance to reflect and celebrate the year that has passed.
As per each year, selecting from more than 12,000 extraordinary students is a challenging task for each of the College’s eleven faculties as they search to find their worthy winners of the Outstanding Performance Award and Inspirational Student Award. A full list of this year’s winners is detailed below.
Each year, the written nominations of the twenty-two worthy winners are subsequently presented to the senior team and governors, who pick an overall Student of the Year – which was, this year, awarded to Kayleigh Lammin, a Higher Education student on the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies course.
She was nominated by her tutor, Rob, who shared the following:
“During her first two years of her degree, Kayleigh was a conscientious and proactive student, asking questions, engaging in research, working collaboratively and acting upon feedback to develop her knowledge and understanding and incredibly, nothing has changed in this respect.
Kayleigh has demonstrated the resilience, drive and organisation necessary to not only keep on track with her studies, but extraordinarily, also improve on her previous academic performance.
She is an inspiration to all who encounter her, including classmates and teachers, her work colleagues and the children in her care - who she continues to inspire in all manner of ways, promoting fun, learning and supporting their development every day.”
Congratulations to all our brilliant students and worthy winners of this year’s Student of the Year Awards, and thank you to our host Blenheim Palace, our extraordinary Performing Arts Students who performed in the ceremony interval, and to our brilliant College team for ensuring that the evening was the success it was.
