Event description:
Open Farm Sunday - Come along and see our working farm!

Abingdon and Witney College’s Common Leys Farm Campus is over 60 acres of countryside just north of Witney. The campus runs specialised courses in land based industries for students aged 16-19, adult learning courses and those on Higher Education programmes. The programmes include agriculture, countryside management, horticulture, floristry, animal management and horse management. Higher Education courses in Animal and Equine are run in partnership with Oxford Brookes University.
The campus boasts a wide variety of farm animals and a range of rare breeds which visitors can see up close. The unit is also home to a variety of reptiles, aquatics, avians, donkeys, goats and even meerkats!
The College is unique in the fact that it has an on-site Thoroughbred stud. Equine students are involved in the covering, foaling, weaning and selling of the foals and includes taking them to Tattersall’s sales in Newmarket. The Centre runs unaffiliated dressage show-jumping and showing classes throughout the year open to the public.
Students are also able to develop their agriculture and land management skills, and undertake courses that include working with local farms, estate maintenance, arboriculture skills, landscaping, establishing and maintaining plants, dry stone walling, hedge laying and green woodcrafts.
The College holds many open days and evenings throughout the year but for now, come along on the 7th of June to find out more about what we do and have a little fun too!
