Witney CampusProgressive Woodworking Joinery Course (Furniture Making): An opportunity to progress your continued skills learned at the intermediate level to mark out, cut and construct a console table incorporating power tools, traditional tools, and materials. This gives you the continued confidence complimenting your hand skills in producing a product for you to take home.

I am not sure which course is right for me, what should I do? Don’t worry, all three courses are run on the same evening at the same campus. Apply now and our team of experienced staff will ensure you’re put on the right programme for you.
Can I do all three levels? Yes, we run each course level three times a year, so once you’ve completed one course, you will be able to move up to the next at the nearest start date.

To include introduction to sharpening of chisels and planes, and planning techniques. Intermediate Programme: Week 1: Mortice & Tenon Joint. To include a re-introduction to mortice chisel & chiselling techniques.Week 2: Measuring all components, marking, squaring & gauging using traditional hand tools & methodsWeek 3: Jointing Footstool top, using traditional hand tools and Domino biscuits. Week 4: Cutting of tenons to top and mid rails by hand using traditional hand tools & methodsWeek 5: Cutting of mortices to legs by hand using mortice chisels.Week 6: Gluing and assembling of footstool using a variety of clamps.Week 7: Clean & sand to finish, allowing you to complete the final decorative finish of your choice at home.
