Produce a colourful Spring landscape that is bursting with life! Working from a photograph, we will construct the main shapes using simple drawing techniques. We will work on thick watercolour paper which will allow for lots of wet into wet painting and layered washes. There will be some consideration of colour mixing and “palette craft” alongside ample opportunity to experiment.
Demonstrations in draughtsmanship/construction methods such as plumblines, angles, shapes and ratios. Ample opportunity to experiment with textures and different ways of using the media. Learners will be encouraged to bring both the formal elements and the free expression to their finished painting.
What next?
Further study in watercolour on Drawing and Watercolour - Mixed Ability B or Watercolour - Beginners B
Entry criteria
Beginners or those with a little experience in watercolour.
