Experiment with colour, texture, and watercolour techniques to bring your ideas and compositions to life.
Learners expand their scene-building skills with more complex subjects and intermediate techniques. Focus will be on creating depth, atmosphere, and texture using wet-on-wet, dry brush, glazing, and layering. Students will explore still life, landscapes, and simple figurative elements, learning to balance composition and storytelling in their paintings. Techniques for colour harmony, mood, and dynamic contrast will be introduced. Soft skills such as critical observation, creative problem-solving, and experimentation are reinforced. By the end of the term, students will have produced a series of cohesive, expressive scene paintings demonstrating growing technical confidence and artistic exploration.Intermediate watercolour techniques
