The VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is an advanced qualification that has been specifically designed for beauty therapists, who wish to add laser and IPL treatments to their repertoire of treatment offerings and proceed to employment as a level 4 laser therapist.
This qualification is based on beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.

Working together with high end medical grade laser and IPL systems from renowned Lynton Lasers, we provide training and support in this field, allowing you to feel competent and safe once working out in this exciting and lucrative industry. This qualification is informed by employers and national occupational standards for beauty therapy and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a LASER and/or Intense Pulsed Light Systems practitioner, specialising in hair growth reduction and skin rejuvenation.

Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety pertaining to Level 4 aesthetic therapies. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to communicate, consult with and analyse clients for treatment, whilst honing their customer service skills.

Course units
Learners must achieve all mandatory units, which include:

• Management of health, safety and security in the salon

• Client care and communication in beauty-related industries

• Laser and light treatments for hair removal

• Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation

It is a college prerequisite that the additional qualification of the Core of Knowledge is completed ( Maybe subject to an additional fee)

What next?
Further Level 4 courses for example Skin Needling and Skin Peeling
Entry criteria
You must be 18 years and hold a recognised Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification which must include Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology. A successful interview must also be achieved.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
