Do you want to make a real difference to peoples' lives? Can you work as well in a team as you can on your own? Love spending time outdoors? Then careers in the Uniformed Services or Sport industry may be just for you! Fitness, teamwork and communication are some of the many skills you will develop on this course.
This course provides an introduction to the exciting and adventure-driven world of Uniformed Services and Sport. You will develop knowledge in public and protective service skills, fitness and training, and career planning. Inspirational trips, excursions, and visits to important local and regional establishments in the industry, such as the Army and the Police, provide exciting experiences and opportunities to develop industry knowledge.

This course will help you to develop essential skills and qualities to take you onto the next level of courses in the Uniformed Services, Sport, apprenticeships or employment. The course consists of 7 units which offer a blend of practical and theory based learning and assessment.

Course units
The course is made up of a range of industry driven topics to fully prepare students for their next steps. These include:

• Investigate Employment Opportunities in the Uniformed Services

• Well-being and Physical Fitness for the Uniformed Services

• Developing Self-Discipline for the Uniformed Services

• Health and Safety in the Uniformed Services

• Map Reading and Navigation

• Participate in Competitive Sport

• Team working skills within the uniformed services

What next?
This course provides students with the opportunity to progress to Level 2 qualifications such as the Level 2 Diploma in Public Services and Sport.
Entry criteria
English & Maths GCSE at grade 2 or Level 1 Functional Skills in both subjects
Fee information
A fee of approximately £70 for uniform will need to be paid directly to the supplier. Further information on this will be given during induction.

Study trips and visits linked to modules are arranged as part of your programme of study. Fees regarding these trips are listed below with further advisement upon the start of the course. A day trip and induction trip fee will be payable at induction and are correct at the time of writing:

Day trip fees: £60 (this covers two trips) Induction trip fee: £130 (Bootcamp Induction trip)
