This course is designed for students working towards Entry Level 2 in English and maths. The course is aimed at students who have a desire to live independently and work in the future but still require a certain level of support to help them achieve their future goals.
On this course students work towards an accreditation in Employability Skills and have the opportunity to participate in Work Experience either individually or as part of a group. Students will continue to consolidate their independent living skills, such as travel training, money handling and cooking as part of the course.

Students take part in various enrichment activities such as Kwik Cricket, visiting local amenities, day trips and organise fundraising activities for charity. Once a week, students will visit Common Leys Farm, where they take part in either Arts & Crafts or Horticulture. The students help to run this as a social enterprise project and are aware that the products they make and grow are then sold to the public to fund future projects.

This one year course is 4 days a week 9.00am – 3.30pm, every day, apart from Wednesdays, when the students finish at 2.30pm.

Transition opportunities following the completion of this course include progression to either Developing Work Skills, Transition to Work or Living Independently. This would be discussed at EHCP Annual Review meetings to determine the most appropriate progression route.
