This free online qualification is intended to enable learners to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of data protection and data security, making them suitable for roles where expertise in these areas is required. The course is free subject to students meeting the government funding criteria detailed below.
The course objectives are to ensure that learners understand current data legislation, are knowledgeable about steps organizations can take to protect data, know how to safeguard their own data, understand how to secure ICT systems from common threats, and appreciate the consequences of not protecting data and systems. This qualification is suited for those seeking roles where knowledge of data protection and data security is essential.

Entry criteria
Learners must be aged 19 or above and have not previously completed a similar qualification to qualify for funding. Some courses may have additional specific prerequisites. Funding requirements can be discussed in detail upon enquiry.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
