This free online qualification is designed for individuals who wish to gain a comprehensive understanding of autism and learn how to provide effective support to individuals with autism. The course is free subject to students meeting the government funding criteria detailed below.
The course aims to develop learners' understanding of autism, emphasizing the principles of supporting individuals with autism, including person-centred approaches and the use of positive communication methods. It covers topics like supporting positive behaviour and enabling individuals with autism to lead fulfilling lives. The course is geared towards helping learners advance in a range of sectors requiring knowledge of autism and expertise in supporting individuals with autism.

Entry criteria
Learners must be aged 19 or above and have not previously completed a similar qualification to qualify for funding. Some courses may have additional specific prerequisites. Funding requirements can be discussed in detail upon enquiry.
Fee information
This course is free to the learner if eligible for funding from the Adult Skills Fund (ASF). The ASF is a fund that has been set up by the government to help support the delivery of education and training to people aged 19 and over. If you meet the eligibility criteria below, you can access this course for free.

To be eligible for the ASF funding, you must meet the following criteria: - Must be aged 19 or over (if aged between 19-23, you must already have a minimum Full Level 2 or equivalent qualification)- Must not have previously completed the course you are wanting to enrol on or another course where the content is similar- Must not be currently enrolled on any other government funded education programme, either with The Skills Network or any other college/provider- Must have been living in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years- Must live in England

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
