The Media Production T-Level course is for students who wish to progress into skilled media employment or higher-level media training or study, including university.
We have invested in a range of new camera equipment and computer equipment, so you will have access to the latest equipment to help develop your skills and prepare you for industry or higher education.

At the Witney campus you will also benefit from use of a bespoke TV studio with control room for multi-camera shooting, as well as a radio studio (built to industry specification), and new edit suites. In Abingdon, a new media suite was launched at the end of 2024, offering learners a state-of-the-art TV studio and dedicated rooms for both pre-and post-production editing.

T Levels are designed to give young people a new two-year, full-time study vocational programme equivalent to 3 A Levels. These new qualifications bring classroom learning and industry placements together on a course designed with businesses and employers, helping prepare students to meet the needs of industry and work.

Course units
You will study core content, which includes:

• The creative economy

• The individual in the creative industries

• Cultural context and vocabulary

• Audience and consumer needs

• Legal and regulatory requirements

• Professional standards and conduct in the workplace

• Equality, diversity and inclusion requirements

• Research skills

You also are required to undertake an occupational specialism. At Abingdon and Witney College, we are offering the Content Creation and Production pathway. This will enable you to develop your media production skills and knowledge e.g. camera, lighting, sound and editing. You will undertake all stages of media production to create content – pre-production, production, and post-production.
