Build confidence using BSL in everyday family life through practical vocabulary, simple conversations, and fun activities.
This supportive course is designed to help parents explore useful tools and resources that can make communication with their child easier and more natural. It offers guidance, shared experiences, and practical ideas — while giving families the opportunity to connect with others and discover clear next steps for continuing their BSL journey.

Each session will include: - time for questions - time for sharing with other families - signposting to further resources

Session 1 - Alphabet & fingerspelling - Numbers 1–20 - Greeting phrases (hello, how are you? what's your name? nice to meet you) Session 2 - Family & Relationships (mum, dad, brother, sister, friend, baby, grandma, grandad) - Feelings & Emotions (happy, sad, angry, tired, hungry) - Daily Routine Signs (breakfast, lunch, dinner, wash, brush teeth)

Session 3 - rooms - instructions (go, come, stop, wait, careful, help, finish, start) - questions (who, what, when, where, why, how, repeat, again, slow)

Session 4 - play (book, game, ball, draw, paint, run, jump, dance, sing, outside, park, swimming pool) - storytelling (using BSL books and videos)

The course will be held online using Teams.
