Learn the basics of Strictly Ballroom. This fun, inclusive course covers key steps, posture, rhythm, and partner work in a relaxed, supportive setting. Perfect for beginners and dance enthusiasts alike.
This inclusive Strictly Ballroom course introduces the fundamentals of ballroom dancing in a fun and supportive setting. You'll learn key steps, rhythm, posture, and partner work, with an introduction to some of the most common ballroom dances, starting with the Waltz. No experience is necessary, and comfortable clothing with soft-soled shoes is recommended.

- Basic footwork, timing, and leading/following techniques - An overview of popular dances such as the Waltz, Quickstep, and Cha-Cha - Musicality, expression, and movement confidence - Partner connection and dance floor etiquette

What next?
Successful completion of the course may lead to an Improvers Ballroom Course in the next term, allowing participants to build on their skills, refine technique, and gain confidence in more advanced steps.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
This isn’t a formal qualification. Learning methods include:

A mixture of demonstration, observation and practical exercises. The tutor will be available to guide and support you throughout.

As this is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification, however you will be required to track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
