By using a wide range of tenses in both formal and informal language, you will begin to analyse and discuss the world around you. You will be able to interact with others with enough fluency and spontaneity to facilitate smooth and natural communication. You will also be able to defend your opinions on general topics, presenting the pros and cons of each argument, and understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract subjects.
The main topics are designed for those who have completed the A and B courses at this level or have spent a significant amount of time in a Spanish-speaking country and wish to deepen their knowledge and practice their skills in a relaxed environment. You will practice all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), with a focus on speaking and listening in class.

The suggested topics include:

- Discussing current affairs.

- Describing causes and consequences.

- Advising or suggesting solutions for various issues.

- Presenting an idea or opinion to others, using different levels of formality..

- Expressing opinions, agreement, or disagreement.

Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements however this is a course for those who have already studied language to at least a level B1 of the European framework of languages or who have spent a reasonable time in the country. This is a course for students who will already be able to talk fairly confidently in the present, past, future and conditional tenses and are familiar with the subjunctive mood.
Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
Learning activities will include individual, pair, small group and whole class work. You will listen to the spoken word through conversation activities, CDs and DVDs, practise speaking, play games, read more complex texts and write accounts. This is not an accredited course so there will be no formal examination. However, your tutor will ask you to complete informal assessment exercises and will give you feedback.

To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
