By using a wide range of tenses in both formal and informal language, you will begin to analyse and discuss the world around you. You will be able to interact with others with enough fluency and spontaneity to facilitate smooth and natural communication. You will also be able to defend your opinions on general topics, presenting the pros and cons of each argument, and understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract subjects.

Please note due to half term there will be no session on 19/02/2026.

The main topics are designed for students who have completed the "Spanish Improving Fluency A" course or those who have already studied the language at, at least, a B1 level according to the Common European Framework. You will practice all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), with an emphasis on speaking and listening in class.

The suggested topics include:

- Expressing probable and possible conditions.

- Expressing wishes.

- Expressing agreement and disagreement.

- Discussing habits and changes in habits.

- Describing contemporary issues.

- Evaluating situations and suggesting possible solutions.

Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements however this is a course for those who have already studied language to at least a level B1 of the European framework of languages or who have spent a reasonable time in the country. This is a course for students who will already be able to talk fairly confidently in the present, past, future and conditional tenses and are familiar with the subjunctive mood.
Fee information
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

Learning & method assessment
Learning activities will include individual, pair, small group and whole class work. You will listen to the spoken word through conversation activities, CDs and DVDs, practise speaking, play games, read more complex texts and write accounts. This is not an accredited course so there will be no formal examination. However, your tutor will ask you to complete informal assessment exercises and will give you feedback.

To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
