Develop Essential Site Supervision Skills from Anywhere
The Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Course (Online) is designed for individuals who have, or are about to take on, supervisory responsibilities within the construction industry. Delivered remotely by experienced trainers, the course provides a comprehensive understanding of health, safety, welfare, and environmental issues encountered on construction sites. Learners will develop the knowledge needed to effectively supervise teams, understand their legal responsibilities, and contribute to creating a positive health and safety culture. This widely recognised qualification is ideal for those seeking to progress into supervisory roles while benefiting from the flexibility of online learning.
Course units
The course covers health and safety law, supervisor responsibilities, risk assessments, method statements, accident prevention, site inductions, toolbox talks, occupational health, fire safety, manual handling, working at height, personal protective equipment (PPE), environmental awareness, and effective communication techniques. Learners will gain the knowledge required to supervise construction activities safely, confidently, and in accordance with industry standards.
What next?
Successful learners can progress to further construction and health and safety qualifications, including the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS), NEBOSH qualifications, IOSH training, and other supervisory or management development programmes. The course supports career progression into higher-level site management and leadership positions.
Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, it is ideally suited to site supervisors, team leaders, forepersons, managers, and individuals responsible for supervising construction activities or those preparing to move into a supervisory role. Learners will require access to a device with internet connectivity to participate in the online training.
