Join us for a creative and rewarding experience in silversmithing and jewellery making! This immersive six-hour workshop is designed to introduce you to the art of jewellery-making and silversmithing and explores the process of creating a contemporary large looped silver chain.
Using sterling silver wire, you will learn how to form, solder, and finish your own unique necklace. The session focuses on mastering core techniques while encouraging creativity in loop sizing, texture, and finish. By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a fully wearable handcrafted chain.

Designing and sketching pendant concepts

Sawing and shaping silver

Texturing and decorating techniques

Soldering and assembling components

Polishing and finishing methods

Reviewing and caring for silver jewellery

Throughout the session, you will:

Learn how to measure, cut, and shape silver wire into consistent loops.

Gain confidence in using soldering tools to securely join links

Explore various texturing and finishing options for surface decoration

Emphasis will be placed on developing precision and confidence in soldering techniques.

Assemble their looped components into a full-length silver chain

Polish and refine their piece for a professional finish

With guidance from an experienced tutor, this course provides a welcoming and supportive space to build technical skills and create a bespoke piece of statement jewellery.

Learning & method assessment
The tutor will demonstrate and teach skills to the class to enable learners to develop and to design their own handmade bauble.

To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
