Celebrate the season with creativity in this joyful six-hour workshop where participants will design and make their own festive silver decorations. From delicate snowflakes and stars to sculptural hanging ornaments, this workshop offers a festive introduction to silversmithing and jewellery-making techniques. Attendees will learn to saw, texture, form, and finish silver sheet and wire, producing one or more unique silver decorations to take home. Perfect as gifts or keepsakes, these handcrafted pieces bring a personal touch to the holiday season.
Throughout the workshop, you will:

Learn how to safely use silversmithing and jewellery tools

Design festive forms such as stars, trees, snowflakes, or abstract seasonal shapes

Saw and shape silver sheet and wire to create dimensional ornaments

Apply decorative surface textures using hammers, punches, and stamps

Solder components where needed to add layered or hanging elements

Polish and finish pieces to achieve a festive shine or rustic patina

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with some jewellery-making experience. All materials and tools are provided, and participants will leave with their own finished silver festive decorations, ready to gift or display."

Free parking onsite, bus stop outside. Bring own refreshments if needed. No class during half term.

Learning & method assessment
The tutor will demonstrate and teach skills to the class to enable learners to develop and to design their own handmade bauble.

To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
