If you have an overlock or serger machine and are not sure how to use it, then this course is for you. It will build on your existing sewing skills and increase your confidence on the use of this type of machine.
Please bring your overlock machine, along with a printed instruction manual, attachments, lead and foot peddle.

On this course you will learn:Introduction to the skills needed to use an overlocker/serger effectively.How to thread and change the threads.How to adjust tensions and use different threads to create stitches for different uses. How to disengage the knife and how to use different attachments that are normally extra additions to your machine.

Please note you will need to bring your machine along with the manual/attachments/lead and foot peddle (please ensure it is in good working order prior to the workshop).

Please bring an assortment of knitted and woven fabrics for practice: -You will need around 12 pieces of fabric about A4 size consisting of: medium weight woven cotton, cotton lawn, single jersey, double jersey, fleece, rib type fabric or similar, organza (or similar), satin, crepe or similar. NB. Some woven fabrics now have stretch(elastane) woven into them.

You will need to bring you sewing equipment.A4 file along with 15 plastic sleeves.

Entry criteria
Learners with sewing skills who have made at least a skirt or a blouse.
Bring your own machine along with manual, attachments, lead, and foot peddle (please ensure it is in good working order).
Fee information
Learners bring own materials.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
