A cosy, creative embroidery course focused on relaxation, simple stitches, and gentle winter‑themed projects for adults wanting a calm, supportive space to unwind.
This warm and welcoming course offers a calming space to learn simple embroidery while enjoying the slower pace of winter. Each week you’ll try easy hand‑stitching techniques, explore texture and colour, and work on small seasonal projects. Everything is beginner‑friendly, relaxed, and designed to support your wellbeing.

Learners will explore: - Basic tools, fabric types, threads and hoops - Essential stitches including backstitch, stem stitch, lazy daisy, satin stitch - Winter‑themed motifs (stars, leaves, simple patterns, textures) - Creating small decorative pieces such as mini samplers, patches or simple framed hoops - Techniques to slow down, focus, and enjoy mindful stitching - Option to start a small personal project

Sessions include demos, creative play, and gentle guidance.

There will be no class during half-term.Parking is available on Campus. Should the car park be full please use Marriotts Walk or Woodford Way car parks which are a few minutes' walk away.Please report to Reception on arrival. A photo-id will be issued for you to wear when attending classes.Vending machines are available.

Entry criteria
No prior sewing or embroidery experience is needed — this course is designed for complete beginners as well as anyone returning to stitching after a break. Adults of all abilities are welcome. If you have additional support needs or require adapted equipment, let us know so we can make the sessions accessible and comfortable for you.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

Course resources will be provided. This course includes a material fee that provides essential resources and hands-on demonstrations, empowering you to achieve your learning goals and master new skills with confidence.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
