This course is for those who have completed the Improvers A course at the college, or for those who consider themselves competent at that level. You should already be able to manage a range of situations using the present and past tenses, as well as cases of nouns and pronouns, although you may still need further practice in these areas.
The programme of the Russian Improvers B course includes the following topics:

Talking about family and friends, using a Russian post office, talking about the weather, arranging meetings and going out, and telling the time using minutes.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Talk about your friends and family, their ages, interests, and work

• Perform basic transactions at the post office

• Talk about what you want to do

• Talk about the weather

• Make arrangements to meet and go out

• Tell the time (minutes to and past the hour) NO class during half term.

What next?
The course will lead to a Russian Improvers Level C. Oxfordshire Adult Learning offer a wide range of similar workshops and courses, please check our website for further information.

Learning & method assessment
You will continue to practise all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) with the emphasis on the spoken language. Learning activities will include individual, pair, small group and whole class work. You will listen to the spoken word, watch videos, practise speaking, play games, read simple texts and write short phrases. This is not an accredited course, so there will be no formal examination. However, your tutor will ask you to complete informal assessment exercises and will give you feedback.
If you are to gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from your language class, it will be useful to spend some time working between sessions. There will usually be a small amount of homework set each week (up to an hour’s work). When homework is not set, it is still a good idea to spend about that amount of time going over what has been done in class. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
